Masters LCQ Set For This Weekend

The 2019 Sunset Cup and Masters Last Chance Qualifier will be held Friday through Sunday at Jack Travers’ International Tournament Skiing at Sunset Lakes in Groveland, Fla. Athletes not currently qualified for the 27th Nautique Junior Masters and 60th Nautique Masters, presented by GM Marine Engine Technology, can qualify by winning an event in the LCQ with a winning score that equals or exceeds respective benchmark scores from the Masters Qualifications Criteria. The 27th Nautique Junior Masters Water Ski Tournament will be held on Friday, May 24 at Callaway Gardens’ Robin Lake in Pine Mountain, Ga. Some of the world’s top junior water ski athletes (age 17 and under on Dec. 31, 2018) will compete for titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall.

U.S. athletes qualified to compete in the Junior Masters are: Jake Abelson (Holderness, N.H.), junior men’s tricks; Kristen Baldwin (Winter Garden, Fla.), junior women’s slalom, tricks and jumping; Ali Garcia (winter Garden, Fla.), junior women’s slalom; Ryan Gay (Winter Garden, Fla.), junior men’s tricks; Kennedy Hansen (Milton, Fla.), junior women’s slalom, tricks and jumping; Blake Keller (New Harford, Conn.), junior men’s jumping; Tianna Kosek (Buffalo, Minn.), junior women’s jumping; Garrett Reese (Walnut Creek, Calif.), junior men’s slalom; and Will Roberts (Dow, Ill.), junior men’s jumping.

The 60th Nautique Masters Water Ski Tournament, presented by GM Marine Engine Technology, will be May 25-26 at Callaway Gardens’ Robin Lake.

U.S. athletes qualified to compete in the Masters Water Ski Tournament are: Brooke Baldwin (Windermere, Fla.), women’s slalom; Franck Desboyaux (Windermere, Fla.), men’s tricks; Taylor Garcia (Winter Garden, Fla.), men’s jumping; Anna Gay (Winter Garden, Fla.), women’s tricks; Regina Jaquess (Santa Rosa Brach, Fla.) women’s slalom and jumping; Freddy Krueger (Winter Garden, Fla.), men’s jumping; Erika Lang (Gilbert, Ariz.), women’s tricks; Lauren Morgan (Seattle, Wash.), women’s jumping; Adam Pickos (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.), men’s tricks; and Karen Truelove (Winter Garden, Fla.), women’s slalom.
